Fort Myers is a popular destination not only for its beaches but also shopping destination and fishing destination. Fort Myers is also had two of the nation’s most famous inventors and business leaders homestead here certain parts of the years in their winter estates. Back in 1916 Henry Ford bought land in downtown Fort Myers next-door to Thomas Edison… his mentor.
Both the estates now serve as a museums to honor these two men and remind us of what they overcame and accomplished. When you near the entrance of the Edison and Ford winter states on the west side you will see the first banyan trees planted in the United States by Thomas Edison

There is an offshore sailing school, air expeditions, eco-global farm tours, Everglades day safari trips, wilderness adventures, outlet shopping and dinner theaters.
There are also sunset cruises treasures, and Island boat tours
Golfing is another big attraction in Southwest Florida with over 130 public and private golf courses, with over 50 in the Fort Myers area this region has a reputation of being the most sought after golf courses in the world.
According to the United States Census, The city has a total area of about 40 miles. Fort Myers has short warm winters and long hot humid summers, the temperature here rises 200°F or lower’s to the freezing mark. Fort Myers has a tropical savanna climate; this climate means they have monthly temperatures above eight 64°F in every month of the year
Fort Myers is a bigger city with a population of over 60,000 and the city’s population increasing each year

Another fantastic post where you share so many fun facts! I didn’t know that about Henry Ford and Thomas Edison! How neat is that?! I have been to Ft. Myers as I flew into the airport you mentioned and then went on to Sanibel and Captiva, but to answer your question on where we visited in Ft. Myers… I know we went to a huge mall, but can’t remember the name. Also went to a beautiful Thai Restaurant but can’t remember the name of it either. Haha! That aside, I do recall it being a beautiful place with lots to do. Will have to check out some of the things you mentioned here. Loads of fun! Lovers Key State Park looks beautiful!
