How To Be Entrepreneur
We live in one of the best times in history to be an Entrepreneur…
I believe that visionaries make great Entrepreneurs…
“Why”
First what is a visionary ?
“Defined broadly, a visionary, is one who can envision the future.”Wikipedia
I believe that we all are visionaries…
Second What is an Entrepreneur ?
1725: Richard Cantillon:
“An entrepreneur is a person who pays a certain price for a product to resell it at an uncertain price”
1934: Schumpeter:
“Entrepreneurs are innovators who use a process of shattering the status quo of the existing products and services, to set up new products, new services.”
1961: David McClleland:
An entrepreneur is a person with a high need for achievement. He is energetic and a moderate risk taker.
1964: Peter Drucker:
An entrepreneur searches for change, responds to it and exploits opportunities. Innovation is a specific tool of an entrepreneur, hence an effective entrepreneur converts a source into a resource.
The Conventional Entrepreneur
In the spring 1999
Entrepreneur
8 month after our first daughter
Jayda was born…
My wife Rachel and I had a strong
desire to start our own
Conventional Business.
After a months of looking for a building to rent,
borrowing $20k for start-up cost,
…equipment, office supplies and a start of a very small inventory, One Sop Glass, Inc. was born on July 28th 1999
I proceeded to hire one full time and one part time employee..
Over the next five months we grossed just over $80,000 by the end of 1999
doesn’t sound to bad right ?
Well after overhead… like taxes, insurance, workers comp, rent, utilities, inventory, office supplies, used truck payment etc, etc, etc…
We had mad zero profit….
And if that wasn’t bad enough!
I still had not taken home a pay check….
Success And Failure Of A Conventional Entrepreneur
After 11 years of lots of hard work
Entrepreneur
Working 60 and sometimes 80 Hours per Week
We had built One Stop Glass, Inc. to a company doing
$2 million per year from a 10,000 square foot building
With 15 employees doing projects from $50 up to $600,000
Everything was just grand till April of 2008
We had just finished building a 4,500 sq ft home that we had planned to borrow equity against, to fund One Stop Glass, Inc next stage of growth…
However!!!
One month before our loan was to be approved
The Infamous Bear Stern went bankrupt
Our Loan Was Denied!!!
Over the next two years we busted our butts.
working twice as hard…
completed several million dollars of projects
that helped strengthen our financials…
We were then in desperate need of a loan..
So we decided to consolidate all
Of our Real Estate and lines of credit
to reduce our monthly expenses
At the same time increasing our line of credit to help carry the
$1.5 million of government contracts we had begun…
However this time the bank tried to pull a fast one on us… they proceeded to ask for all of our titles for anything of value that
We Outright owned…
…Have you ever felt like someone was about to take advantage of you ?
Well after the bank drug out the loan process for six months I knew
I was about to get Screwed…
After six month of racking up debt and cashing my
personal checks to pay for my guys out of town jobs
Our loan came back denied …
That was one of the most challenging weeks of my life
I first had to call all of the contractors we had signed contracts with
and give them the bad news then after making a decision to close
down the company
I had to meat with my dedicated employees
and give them the bad NEWS THAT SUCKED BAD
But I still had Hope
An Entrepreneur Always Has A Backup Plan
Remember I had mentioned earlier I Had a bad Feeling
when the bank ask for all my
Titles….
Well two months prior I began following a few Internet marketing Guys
with the objective of promoting One Stop Glass, Inc.
I became fascinated with what I was learning from the
Systems & Processes they used to leverage the Internet
To promote there Direct sales companies…
So I started learning and mapped out
A Master plan that changed my life…
THE Entrepreneur MASTER PLAN
…For the last 2 years I have
Been Blessed to work on my terms…
…Using the power of the Internet
And Showing others how to do the same
